A Man, A Time, A Vision are three simple distinct words to describe the  awesome ministry gift on Reverend Stanton Drinks, Sr.’s life and  ministry. He is God’s under shepherd for Golden Star Baptist Church (GSBC)  located in Philadelphia, PA. Pastor Drinks has a  tremendous  passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. He has a contagious spirit of love and wisdom that flows through every facet of his ministry. Having received his mandate from God, Rev Drinks obediently fulfills his calling as Pastor of GSBC.

A Man…Pastor Stanton Drinks, Sr. was born and educated in Philadelphia, PA. He answered God’s call to ministry in 1987, and was  ordained under the leadership of Rev. Theodore  Stanback Sr.,  Pastor of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Shortly thereafter, Rev Drinks  became the founder and Pastor of Greater St. John Baptist Church. In 1992, Greater St. John merged with Golden Star Baptist Church and Rev Drinks was installed as Pastor in November of that year.

A Time…Rev Drinks’ firm and confident proclamation of God’s word has changed the lives of many. In 1996, Pastor Drinks initiated a “Move of Faith” and relocated the church from its original building at 2017 Ridge Ave to our current facility at 1635-39 North 27th Street. The building that currently houses the church was the former home of a storage depot for a local taxi cab company. Each Sunday Pastor Drinks and the anointed leadership teams he has assembled ministers to the needs of the congregation, while holding a firm “Call to Holiness”, which is much needed in today’s society.

A Vision…Pastor Drinks was given the vision to “Take the Block”. Moving on with the vision Golden Star consists of a   beautiful sanctuary, with a Sunday daycare, convenient free parking lots, a business office and properties currently under construction, all aimed to bettering the  community and building the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Stanton Drinks, Sr. and his wife, Bernice Drinks, are an anointed duo that God is using to make a change in the lives of people. They are also the proud parents of three adult children: daughters Octavia and Brionna and a son Stanton Jr. Pastor Drinks upholds the standard of a strong Godly man of integrity, without compromise. A much needed role model for today’s young Christian men.
